The Hong Kong Sailing Federation has revealed the team which will represent Hong Kong at the ISAF Youth Worlds 2015 in Langkawi, Malaysia, on 27th Dec 2015 to 3rd Jan 2016. The ISAF Youth Worlds is recognized as the top annual event for sailors who are below 19 years of age and this year will be the grandest as of now with more than 80 countries taking part in it with over 350 entrants.
With each country limited to 1 entry each class the places were gravely contended. The team has many who would participate in their very first Youth Worlds even though Yann and Nathan are returnees to this event looking ahead to build on their top ten finish at the 29er Worlds in 2015. Langkawi is a known venue for Nathan. On these waters, he won a gold medal at Asian Sailing Championships.
HKSF President Warwick Downes told that they are proud of the team who are very excited to be taking part in this event and they are grateful for the support from EFG, the Hong Kong Sailing Federation’s sponsor for their Youth Sailing Team.
Richard Knight, the Coaching Director of both the Hong Kong Sailing Federation and Rent a yacht Greece said that supporting the team would be coaches Winfield Zee, Fajai Chan Yuk Wah and Rory Godman. This will be a great experience for all the young sailors and it is also a stepping-stone to future success.
